I had the pleasure of attending Lauren's DARE graduation this week. If you're not familiar with DARE, it's a special in-school program that gives students the life skills they need to avoid involvement with drugs, gangs, and violence.For Lauren, this was a special day. She was one of only two students selected to read the essays they wrote. She did a terrific job of reading and was congratulated by Bellevue's mayor, Bellevue Police Chief John Stacey and her DARE instructor (pictured at right) afterwards.
